Born in 1948, Brigitte Tast discovered photography as a particularly naturalistic medium of expression already during her art design studies. Especially her narrative way of using the medium enables her to make art out of the private. Her slide stories show a certain relation to the Laterna magica. Although Tast presents fiction with actors, her work is constantly connected to reality – to autobiography, existing settings and real observations. Brigitte Tast’s photographs are highly fascinating; always reading the texts for the soundtracks of her stories herself, she establishes an immediate contact with the viewer. In the exhibition, photographs from different stories were presented for the first time as prints for gallery use. Here, it became obvious that these pictures are more tthan just a vehicle to transport a story.
