Gottfried Kolditz belonged to the most important DEFA directors. During the 1950s, he worked for theatres in Rostock, Dresden and Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz) until he changed to filmmaking in 1956. Fairy tale, adventure and western films such as “Spur des Falken” (1968), “Apachen” (1973) and “Ulzana” (1974) became his preferred genre. The exhibition was created on the occasion of Gottfried Kolditz’ 80th birthday and delivered insight into his estate that is preserved by Filmmuseum Potsdam.
