Today, Europe’s oldest film studio produces Hollywood films and TV series. The exhibition puts its emphasis on the DEFA years – a time when films, by chance or on purpose, raised a monument to the GDR.

The exhibition "Babelsberg – Faces of a Film Metropolis" deals with the history of the famous Babelsberg studios from 1912 to today and gives an introduction to Ufa, DEFA and Studio Babelsberg films and artists. A time line reminds of the reality beyond the screen.
